Originally established in 1959, this course is not your typical desert course. Whether you’re a scratch, beginner, or fall somewhere in between, you’ll soon realize why LQCC is a paradise for all player levels. It is described as impeccably maintained, traditional, well-bunkered with mature trees. It requires strategic course management, which is why pros and amateurs alike favor it. It is known as having “the best greens on tour”. For 50+ years this course has been host to the Bob Hope Classic Tournament, now known as The American Express, hosted by Phil Mickelson.

Current members enthusiastically welcome new Members to play in various golf groups each week. Tournaments and Member-Guest days are frequent and fun. Members enjoy maximum use of the golf course and tee times are plentiful – even on the weekends.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served on many outdoor terraces that take advantage of fairway, lake and stunning mountain views, as well as the recently remodeled dining room with equally impressive views. The Tee House is available for fresh pastries, coffee, homemade soup, and daily specials. The social activities include a diverse and fun roster of events for everyone.

There is a very large variety of single-family custom homes and condominiums built throughout the years from the 1960’s to 2020. Custom home architectural styles vary from Spanish, mid-century modern and contemporary. Most of the homes and condos that were built in the earlier years have been renovated, so no two are alike.

Our Viewpoint:

When people say they fell in love with the course at first sight or when the professional golfers say the greens are like carpet, we concur! This golf course is a treat to play and the members are friendly and devoted to their club. Because homes were built throughout the years, we love the eclectic and fun mix of differing architecture and remodels. You can find anything from a cozy 2-bedroom condo to a larger custom home…from a swanky contemporary to an old world Spanish hacienda…. you get the picture. The choices available in the LQCC neighborhoods are refreshing compared to other gated communities in La Quinta.

Multiple membership options are available, including Regular, Junior, Associate, and Social. La Quinta Country Club offers a trial membership for those with a sincere interest in joining the Club.
